Dr Shrestha holds a Clinical Certificate in Occupational Medicine (Monash), is an Authorised Railway Medical Examiner (Categories 1, 2 & 3) and a Certified MAXHEALTH Doctor (formerly InjuryNet).

WorkCover & Workplace Injuries

In NSW, workers compensation is regulated by SIRA. If you've been injured at work, your insurer covers weekly payments, medical expenses, rehabilitation and return-to-work support. Employers are required to support your recovery and provide suitable duties.

Before your appointment: please speak with your employer and insurer and obtain a claim number. This streamlines your visit so the consultation is billed directly to your insurer at the SIRA WorkCover rate — not to you.

Pre-employment Medicals

A pre-employment medical is a baseline health assessment before starting a new role. It helps ensure workers are fit for the job, reduces risk to themselves and others, and supports employer Work Health & Safety (WHS) obligations.

Purpose

  • Confirm fitness for the specific role
  • Reduce risk to worker and co-workers
  • Meet WHS obligations
  • Establish a baseline for future claims

Common tests

  • Blood pressure, BMI, urinalysis
  • Vision and hearing (audiometry)
  • Musculoskeletal and cardio exam
  • Spirometry / lung function (when required)
  • Drug & alcohol screening (when required)

Railway Medicals

Rail Safety Workers in Australia must meet the National Standard for Health Assessment of Rail Safety Workers. Dr Shrestha is an Authorised Railway Medical Examiner for all three categories.
